Interpol issues "Red Notice" !!!

Author: bbc.co.uk - Job Vacancy

It said the Australian was wanted for questioning in Sweden over an alleged sex offence, which he has denied. - Job Indonesia
The Red Notice does not amount to an arrest warrant. Instead, it asks people to contact the police if they have any information about his whereabouts.
Meanwhile, Ecuador's President Rafael Correa has said he did not approve an offer of residency made to Mr Assange.

 Mr.Assange

Work praised Lowongan Kerja - Mr Assange, 39, has filed an appeal with Sweden's Supreme Court in an effort to overturn a ruling by the Stockholm district court earlier this month that he be detained for questioning on allegations of rape, sexual molestation and unlawful coercion, stemming from a visit in August.
His petition was rejected by the Stockholm appeals court last week.
Australia is also investigating whether he has broken any laws there.
Mr Assange has dismissed the allegations as part of a smear campaign.
His mother, Christine, has spoken of her distress at the Interpol alert.
Mrs Assange, who lives in Queensland, told Australian radio: "He's my son and I love him and obviously I don't want him hunted down and jailed. I'm reacting as any mother would. I'm distressed. A lot of stuff that's written about me and Julian is untrue."
On Monday, Ecuador's Deputy Foreign Minister Kintto Lucas had praised Mr Assange's investigative work and said he was welcome to live and lecture in the country "without any conditions".
But Mr Correa told reporters that the offer had "not been approved by Foreign Minister Ricardo Patino - or the president". Mr Patino said it would "have to be studied from the legal and diplomatic perspective".
Sweden turned down Mr Assange's application for residency in October. The Scandinavian country's laws protect whistle-blowers.

How to Build Strategic International Relationships

by John Astor

Just learning how to shake hands in career world doesn’t make you culturally aware. A few learned copy-cat mannerisms and a couple opening lines will not put the global executive into the good graces of their regional leaders. It used to be fine, considering the small amount of time that leaders spent abroad. But more and more, as we see top-level local management strategies that have transparent relationships with each other for alignment and success, building relationships that are strong and solid are absolutely essential in today’s highly competitive marketplace.

In Japan, during the 1980’s boom years, foreigners were falling over each other to grab some of the success that Japanese businesses had created. Many managers learned a little bit of the language, how to eat soup, etc., but they missed a great opportunity to build real bonds. Unfortunately, those bonds could have also helped the Japanese businesses during the ‘90’s.

Today, we are in the midst of a series of dynamics such as, rising new economies, immediate access to customers and speed decision making, so creating and nurturing long lasting connections is a must. Maya Hu-Chan of the Global Leadership Development Center so correctly states, ‘In my work with multinational corporations, my global clients have often pointed out that building partnerships is one of the most important competencies for global leaders of the future’.

To develop powerful partnerships and prevent problematic situations, integrate these five pieces of advice.
  • Have a real interest in other cultures and learn about them through food, the arts and music, literature and the areas that give uniqueness to their place the human experience.
  • Build partnerships wherever you go with ease. You never force a friendship. You develop it. Become an open access point of assistance to your host reports, superiors and especially those horizontally. Encourage others to do the same.
  • Listen, Listen, Listen! This may be one of the great challenges for human beings, but it is an essential skill for trust. Don’t just listen with your ears, but apprehend the individual with all of your faculties. Go beyond their special behaviors and reach for what they are trying to communicate.
  • Never be patronizing. This may be very difficult for some cultures that have been taught they are the best. Be careful not to appear paternal or on a higher level than other people. Also pay close attention to how you phrase comments about their culture. This is also true for spouses of expatriates.
  • Get out of your shell. The higher you go up in an organization, the more insulated you become. Mingle with different people with different interests and you will be well prepared to meet the exciting challenges of interacting with all types of personalities from all over the world.

By putting these five points into action will give you a basis for working in all environments and with all cultures. Of course, each culture has unique aspects that give them their own perspectives on business and life, and we are all unique individuals with unique behaviors, but having a real sense of how we can make deeper connections profoundly helps us move forward together.

Prisoner Released By Mistake 3 Times ?

Author: bbc.co.uk - Job Indonesia

Justice Minister David Ford called for an immediate disciplinary investigation into the matter.
Lowongan Kerja - Sean Gerard Cahill was released after appearing at Laganside Courts on 24 November.
Cahill failed to turn up at Lisburn Magistrates' Court on Tuesday. He is the third prisoner released by mistake in two months. - Job Vacancy
Cahill was convicted and sentenced to one month imprisonment on a charge of aggravated vehicle-taking.
He was released at that point due to the time that he had spent on remand awaiting trial.

 David Ford

Rather than being released, Cahill should have been returned to custody pending a further hearing scheduled for Tuesday 30 November.
The second hearing was in relation to charges of robbery, possession of an offensive weapon and taking a vehicle without the owner's consent.
The error came to light when Cahill did not appear at Lisburn Magistrates' Court on Tuesday morning.
David Ford said: "I have demanded that a disciplinary investigation be launched immediately into this most serious matter.
"It is vital that we urgently find out why this has happened, and if individuals are to blame I will move swiftly to take the appropriate action.
"This is the third time in a matter of months that a prisoner has been released in error and I share the public anger that will naturally follow this latest serious incident."
The justice minister will receive a fuller detailed briefing from officials on Wednesday morning.

Career job information for job seekers and find good employment job

If you are wondering how to become an oceanographer, below are tips and advice on training for and beginning careers ( job) in this area of the environmental sciences, as well as job prospects in the UK.
The Job ( career )Description
Oceanographers use their knowledge of biology, chemistry, physics and geology to study the seas and oceans. Examples of their work include conducting research into the effects of climate change, and exploring the impact of pollution and offshore engineering on marine ecosystems.
As an oceanographer, you could specialise in one of four areas:
marine biology – studying marine plants and animals
marine chemistry – anaylysing the chemical composition of seawater and the behaviour of pollutants
marine geology – studying the structure and make-up of the ocean floor
marine physics – as a marine physicist you would study water temperature and density, wave motion, tides and currents.
You would use a variety of techniques to collect data, including:
remote sensors on satellites
instruments on towed or self-powered submersibles
apparatus on moored or drifting buoys
probes lowered into the sea
drills to explore the seabed and acoustics.
Your work would vary depending on the area you specialise in, but will often include:
research and writing reports
presenting and publishing your findings
working with computer modellers to produce graphical simulations of your research
managing a project
leading a team of technical support staff.
Person Specification
The key personal attributes of good oceanographers include:
strong mathematical and scientific skills
good powers of observation
practical skills
good research and problem solving skills
a flexible approach to work
accuracy and attention to detail
good physical health and fitness for research work
the ability to work alone and as part of a team
excellent spoken and written communication skills.
How to become an oceanographer
To become an oceanographer you need a degree in a science-based subject (such as maths, physics or chemistry). As an alternative, you could do a joint honours degree, studying oceanography with either maths, physics or chemistry. Many employers also prefer you to have a relevant postgraduate qualification. For example, a good preparation for work in marine physics would be a physics degree followed by an MSc in Oceanography.
Many degree courses in this area include fieldwork and take around four years to complete. At postgraduate-level, there are taught Masters degrees, research degrees and PhD programmes. The Society for Underwater Technology (SUT) has details of relevant courses and possible funding options; see Further Information.
To get onto a relevant science-based degree you will usually need:
five or more GCSEs (A-C) including English, maths and three science subjects
two or three A levels, including maths, physics and one other science or computing
However, please check with course providers because alternative qualifications may also be accepted.
Training and Development
As an oceanographer you will usually receive on-the-job training from your employer, which will often be combined with short courses, self-managed learning, seminars and conferences.
To help keep you up-to-date, the SUT has details of courses including a Continuing Professional Development programme offered by a group of universities known as MTEC (Marine Technology Education Consortium).
The Pay (a rough guide)
Starting salaries can be between £19,000 and £22,000 a year
With experience this can rise to around £36,000.

Job Interview Questions >> The Correct Way to Answer

by  job- search- adviser. net

Question 1 : Like me – Like me NOT

Image of a man using a computerOne of the most common interview questions is, “What did you like most, and what did you dislike most about your last job?”

When you give your job interview answer for this question you want to make sure that you do not speak too negatively about your prior company. If you do so, this may lead the person that you are interviewing with to assume that you will do the same with their company. Job interview answers are not always the easiest to spin into something positive. You may need to write, rewrite and rewrite again to get this answer correct.

Try an answer something like this: “I enjoyed the company because they rewarded the employees when all goals were completed. It showed us that they really cared about our hard work and us. I would have enjoyed the it more if they would have had more advancement opportunities.”

Question 2 : weakness VS. STRENGTHS

Employers tend to ask about your strengths and weaknesses. They may form the questions like this, “What is your greatest weakness?” and “What is your greatest strengths?”

Most individuals can come up with a job interview answer for strengths in a heartbeat, but can’t come up with a weakness that they are willing to share with others. So they stumble over the answer and end up sounding a little weak in the interview. Make sure you do not refer to your weakness as such, spin it to a positive.

So look at the better way to have a job interview answer for this question: “I enjoy taking pride in my work so I tend to take a little too much time checking it. Luckily I have learned some new features of Microsoft office 2007 that have helped me to better and more efficiently check my work.

Question 3 : The boss is wrong!
There are times when interview questions that will ask you about your judgment. They may ask you, “What would you do if your boss told you to do something and you knew that was the wrong way to do it?

This question may make you start to squirm a little in your seat. How in the world are you going to answer this without getting them upset? Try a job interview answer along these lines: “To be honest with you, I’m not sure what I would do. If it was something minor I may just do as I was told, and go with the flow, but if it was something that I knew was really wrong I would have to talk to him about it.”

You may also want to mention the fact that some people take confrontation differently than others. There are supervisors that you can approach and would have no problem with you letting them know they are wrong. There are also supervisors that do not care to have their authority challenged, even in private conversations.

Question 4 : Have you done your homework?

Sometimes the interviewer will ask you this question, “How did you get ready for this interview?” or “What do you know about our company?”

OK, your first responses is Oh no, not a pop quiz! I can’t do that! There has to be a way to avoid this job interview answer! Alas, this is not so!

Make sure that when you do send in your resume that you look up the company on the Internet and see if they have a website. See what they are about, what their mission statement is, and if this would be a company you would want to work for. Then a great job interview answer would look like this: “When I found the ad in the Anytown Daily Press I did a Google search on your company and went to your website.

I was impressed by your mission statement and the amount of community service that you do every year, that is something that is important to me as well. I looked over your annual report and noticed that the company had a slight increase in the equity this year. I think that with me in the accounting office that I will be able to assist the Accounting Manager in at least doubling that target. As you can see on my resume…”

As you can tell, the interviewee did their homework, and was able to show the employer that he or she had as well. It’s important to keep the employer on your side. The best thing to do is to have knowledge, for knowledge is power.

Cover Letter Tips: Making Yourself Irresistible Part II

By interviewmastermind .com

Here are cover letter tips to keep your resume from ending up in the trash can:
>> Don’t just parrot your resume.

Your cover letter, though short and simple, is an asset that will pave the way for your future income, and a lot of prospective employees make the mistake of writing exactly what is on the resume.  Don’t do this—it shows a lack of creativity.  Your cover letter should expand and serve as a bridge to your resume.  Since it’s the first thing they see, make it count.  This goes back to the previous point- it’s one of the crucial cover letter tips.  Brag and talk about how great you are but don’t just summarize your resume.

>> Don’t come across as a Harvard prude, even if you are one.

Professionalism is nice, but no one wants to work with a pompous ass.  If that’s not how you talk on a daily basis, tone it down.  If that is how you talk, you’ve got bigger problems than I can solve.  Write like a kindergartner.  Okay, I don’t mean write sentences like “Jane likes jobs.  Jane wants money.”  I mean be clear and simple, and sound out your words while you write to make sure they aren’t too sophisticated.  And definitely don’t talk about how this is one of the awesome cover letter tips you found here.  You don’t have to spill the beans like a kindergartener would either, just be clear, concise and readable.

>> Email letters should be short and sweet, like a one-night stand.

Long emails waste time that could be better spent on Facebook.  Once they open your resume they’ve decided to invest some time in you, so they are psychologically prepared for more information.  Einstein once said, “Everything should be as simple as it is, but not simpler.”  Anything more will make you seem like a possible future headache.

>> Attack them from all angles.

If you don’t have submission guidelines, send the resume as an attachment and an email.  Then point it out.  “I’m such a great fella I sent this as an email AND an attachment.”  The message is you are the type of person who will make their life easier.

>> The most crucial of the cover letter tips- Don’t be weak.

“My professional resume is included if you would like to look at it.”   Subconsciously, you just told them you aren’t even sure if your resume is worth their time.  Grow a pair.  Say something direct and casual like, “As you can see in my resume, I’ve worked in the midget porn industry for forty-three years.”  EXPECT them to read it, and they are much more likely to do so.  Ok, so that actual line is not one of the cover letter tips you should utilize, but you get what I mean.

Cover Letter Tips: Making Yourself Irresistible Part I

By interviewmastermind .com

Most employers could go their whole lives without reading another resume  if it was up to them, so that’s when truly helpful cover letter tips come in handy.  If they are not in a hurry to hire, the last thing they want to do with their time is pick through anonymous resumes.  A cover letter gives you a quick chance to tell them why they should take a closer look at you.

Here are cover letter tips to keep your resume from ending up in the trash can:

>> If you’ve got connections, use them.cover letter tips

Name-dropping works.  For one, an employer feels a subconscious obligation to give you a solid chance if you have a mutual contact.  In fact, they will probably have to find a good reason not to hire you if it might affect their social life or business.  Also, human beings are ethnocentric creatures — which means they’re hesitant to let anyone into their world that they don’t know.  This is one of the oldest cover letter tips ever used, but it still works.   Establish a connection and they’re more likely to take a chance.

>> Never address “To Whom it May Concern.”

This is one of the cover letter tips you need to keep at the forefront of your mind.  Even if they know you don’t know them, saying their name gets their attention, as if the letter is truly to them.  It makes it more personal.  Besides, if you don’t have the brains to research a name, they don’t want you.  It shows you care about the position and are willing to do some homework.  Otherwise you’re like that shameless spammer on Facebook who is always promoting his band that no one likes—“Be my friend!  Be my friend!”  No one likes that guy, so don’t act like him.

>> Keep it Conversational.

Keeping the cover letter conversational is one of the best cover letter tips out there.  Show some personality and the reader is less likely to crumple it up and shoot a basket.  This type of language makes people feel like you have rapport even if you’ve never met.

>> Brag about yourself.

While your dedication to telling the world how awesome you are hasn’t scored you many friends in the past, here is your chance to put it out there without everyone leaving the room talking about what a douche bag your are.  Finally.  Tell them why you’re the man or woman for the job.  Having the confidence to state it straight up sends the signal that you really are qualified.

The more specific, tangible, and measurable the better because it tells them you’re not just winging it.

>> Always talk about your achievements.

They don’t just want another employee—they want the best, and achievements mark you as a high-value individual.  Use bullet points to cover more space, creating the illusion there is more information than there actually is.  Most cover letter tips will tell you not to list your accomplishments, but this is where you want to brag away.

GE Buys 25,000 Electric Cars To Kick-Start Market !!!

Author: bbc.co.uk

Lowongan Kerja - It hopes that its purchase of 25,000 electric vehicles will drive the development of a network of charging stations, and other related products, which it produces.

Its first order is for 12,000 Chevrolet Volts, which will start to roll off GM's production lines this month.

GE will use them as company cars and lease them to corporate customers.

It intends to buy the 25,000 cars by 2015. It will use some of them in its own fleet.
The rest will go into its Capital Fleet Services business, which leases cars to corporate customers.

GM said it wanted to "lead wide-scale electric adoption and generate growth for its businesses".

GE's Jeff Immelt said he hope the purchase would "move electric vehicles from anticipation to action".

It predicts that the nascent electric vehicle market could be worth $500m (£310m; 366m euros) in revenue to GM over the next three years.

General Motors Getting Ready For Profitable Future

Author: bbc.co.uk

Job Indonesia - A year-and-a-half after the US automotive giant General Motors (GM) filled for bankruptcy protection, the Cadillac factory in Lansing, Michigan, is still churning out cars. - Job Vacancy

The Grand River Assembly, which lies about 90 miles west of Detroit, is gearing up production, hiring hundreds of new workers and getting ready to start producing a Cadillac that will be both smaller and much less thirsty than those it used to make.

Lowongan Kerja - The model is a powerful symbol of a new beginning for the bruised carmaker after last year's $50bn - £31bn at current exchange rates - bail-out by the US taxpayer.

But symbolism will not do for GM's new chief executive Dan Akerson, a former telecoms executive and naval officer known for his keen, at times even combative, focus on figures.

They are beginning to look impressive. GM made $2bn net profits during the July to September quarter, a dramatic turnaround from a near-$1bn loss during the same period a year earlier.

"The results of the third quarter clearly point to the amount of progress that GM has made," says Mr Akerson, who also has a background in private equity investment.

With sales remaining strong during the last three months of the year, GM expects to make a profit for the year as a whole.

"Although we're a different company, it's worth noting that last time GM reported a profitable year was 1994," Mr Akerson says.

Making better cars
Dan Akerson, chief executive, General Motors Mr Akerson is known as a combative executive who focuses closely on financial figures
With Mr Akerson at the helm, GM is getting ready for the second leg of a long and painful journey.

The first, which was run by his predecessors Fritz Henderson and Ed Whitacre, was all about pushing through a harsh restructuring, all under the watchful eye of a board of directors representing the US government's 61% stake in the group.
The second phase of GM's revival is about to start as the government and its co-owners - the Canadian government and the union - get ready to pass majority control of the company back to private investors.

And it is clear that this phase will have to be product-led.

In recent years, the quality of many of the models made by GM has fallen short of the quality products delivered by many of its rivals, and so the company reputation has suffered a great deal.

Mr Akerson is eager to fix that.

He knows well that building quality cars can be costly, so this year GM has spent close to $5bn on capital expenditure.

Next year, and in the years ahead, Mr Akerson is expected to spend even more - and he is eager to pass on the message.

"We've just started doing a better job in marketing our brands to consumers," he says.

International challenge
But making better cars will not be enough without further changes to GM's corporate culture, as well as a bolstering of morale in a company that has seen tens of thousands of jobs go in a matter of months.
Improved financial risk management is also vital, according to Mr Akerson, who has been pushing for closer monitoring of what profit margins different units within the firm deliver, as well as for a more deliberate approach to currency risk.
And of course, Mr Akerson says, "we continue to be vigilant in reducing cost".
But the biggest challenge will be to rebuild relations with both customers and government officials, workers and dealers, across the pond.
This is particularly important in Germany, the largest car market in Europe, where deep wounds were inflicted last year during lengthy talks with both the unions and the government.
Mr Akerson is fully aware of what needs to be done. "We know we have much work to do. We still have to fix Europe," he says.
Private investors, preparing to buy GM shares, will hope he also knows how to do it.

GM Shares Jump After Record Public Offering

Author: bbc.co.uk

Indonesia Job - Shares in General Motors (GM) have risen 3.6% on the first day of trading following the carmaker's record public share offering.

Job Indonesia - Shares closed at $34.19 in New York from a start of $33, although they did reach a high of $35.60 during the day. - Job Vacancy

GM raised $20.1bn through its offering, making it the largest share sale in the US to date.

President Barack Obama said the firm was on track to recover the government money spent on bailing it out.

The amount raised could rise to a world record $23.1bn if underwriters exercise an option to sell more shares.

Surprisingly strong investor demand had allowed the carmaker to lift the price of the shares on offer to $33 from the $26 it had initially hoped for.

GM is returning to the market after a $50bn government bail-out.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average closed up 173 points at 11,183, a rise of 1.6%.
Mr Obama said: "Today, one of the toughest tales of the recession took another big step toward becoming a success story.

"American taxpayers are now positioned to recover more than my administration invested in GM, and that's a good thing."

Canada, which pumped in $10bn and owns 12% of the stock, said it too would seek to recover some of its investment by selling part of its stake.

Different ballpark

The day's trading began on Wall Street when GM chief executive Dan Akerson rang the opening bell on the New York Stock Exchange.

Analysis

This is a very bright start.
The share offering is more ambitious than anyone expected, and the demand for stock seems overwhelming.
Not bad for a company that almost went bankrupt 18 months ago.
But there's still a long way to go if the taxpayers are to get all their money back. The bailout cost them $50bn.
It's thought the government will have to sell its remaining stock at around $50 a share for several years to recoup its investment.
But the bailout was never only about GM. The Obama administration argued that the entire American car industry, with all its associated businesses, was at stake.
So far, the evidence suggests that something is working.
A general revival does seem to be under way, at least in terms of the profitability and competitiveness of the companies involved.
But the cost has been huge: tens of thousands of workers were laid off, plants closed, familiar brands ditched and auto dealers told to look for other work.
And the bailout itself remains hugely controversial, with the administration's critics still seeing it as an unwarranted intrusion of big government into the free market.
It's clearly in the interests of both GM and the White House for the nickname "Government Motors" to become a thing of the past.
"There's a lot of work to do, but today is the beginning of the new company," said Mark Reuss, GM's North American president.
Government officials said the company's strong market debut showed they had made the right choice in rescuing the carmaker.
"This is a bit better than people had been projecting. As to a year ago, it's not even in the same ballpark," Ron Bloom, the Treasury official in charge of the GM investment told Reuters.
"A year ago, people said, 'You have no exit, you have no strategy. This company is not fixed'."
The carmaker has raised $20.1bn from the sale of the shares. However, an over-allotment option, which will be settled over the next 30 days, would add $3bn to that figure, taking GM beyond the $22.1bn raised by the Agricultural Bank of China's market launch.
The share sale, known as an initial public offering (IPO), will allow the US government reduce its current 61% stake in the company to as low as 33%.
GM returned to profit this year for the first time since 2004. The company made $5bn during the first nine months of this year.
Scott Painter from the US car comparison site Truecar.com believes the IPO is a sign of how well the economic recovery is going.
"I think GM having a strong IPO and pricing it at the high end of the range certainly speaks well of America and confidence in America, and GM is a really good indicator of everything that we've been through over the last couple of years and how the recovery is working out," he said.

Why 'Yes' is so hard for the Irish

Author: bbc.co.uk

Job Indonesia - In a radio interview, the Governor of the Bank of Ireland Patrick Honohan confirmed what most people expected - that some kind of bail-out for Ireland seems to be on the way. They may dress it up as a loan for the banks but it will involve tens of billions of euros. Up until the governor's comments, the Irish government was sticking to its line that it did not need rescuing. - Job Vacancy

Lowongan Kerja - And indeed even after the governor had spoken, Irish Finance Minister Brian Lenihan said that his country was not yet at the point of taking a substantial international loan.

Europe's crisis managers, who have been a busy bunch this year, had not envisaged a situation where a country did not want to be bailed out. Quite the opposite. In setting up various rescue mechanisms they feared the profligate, or those who ran up bad debts, would beat a path to their door.

So when last weekend various officials - some close to the European Central Bank - began briefing that it was only a matter of time before Ireland was bailed out, they did not expect such stout resistance from Dublin.

So why did Ireland try and hold out?

The Irish government is fragile. It faces a difficult by-election. Its hold on power is slight. A bail-out, however dressed up, is a humiliation. It is a judgment on the way the government has run the country.
There is a stigma to being rescued. The image of the Celtic Tiger has long disappeared but the Irish still cherish the memory. For some years they had the fastest-growing country in Europe. To be bailed out would wound Irish pride.

Then there are conditions. One of the reasons that Ireland did so well was inward investment - particularly from the US. Large multinational companies were attracted to Ireland by a corporate tax rate of 12.5%. Others in Europe - including the French and Germans - dislike the tax. They believe it gives Ireland an unfair advantage.
Many government officials in Ireland fear that one condition of a rescue would be to give up their low corporate tax rate. A few days ago, Ireland's Europe Minister, Dick Roche, bridled at the very suggestion. "We are in charge of our own taxes," he said. We shall see what the terms of any loan are.
European Commissioner for the Economy Olli Rehn (archive
image)
Then there is the not-so-little matter of sovereignty. Already Irish commentators have focused on the EU Economics Commissioner, Ollie Rehn. When they were not reporting on his visit to an expensive restaurant, they asked: "Is he the most important man in Ireland?" Is this unelected official essentially running the country, was the tone of some of the comment.

There are stirrings of unease here at what Ireland may be giving away. When it was announced that a team of experts from the EU, the IMF and the ECB were coming to Dublin, the opposition leader referred to them as "officials arriving to dictate terms of a bail-out to the government".

Ireland for a long period was enthusiastically European. Many smart people headed to Brussels. They embraced the European identity as a way of distancing themselves from their neighbour Britain. They took great satisfaction in seeing Irish companies buying up big hotels in London.

So there is foreboding as to what a bail-out would signify. One Irish commentator wrote today: "Having obtained our political independence from Britain to be the masters of our own affairs, we have now surrendered our sovereignty to the European Commission."

Brian Lenihan has defended the increasing influence of the officials from Brussels with references to European solidarity. "We share our sovereignty with Europe in relation to currency," he said. "We pool our sovereignty in this area, so if you're pooling your sovereignty, you have to act with your partners in whatever steps you take." Yesterday he spoke of a "very supportive reaction from the wider European family".

What the Irish government is hoping for - if the Bank governor is right - is a narrow deal to restore the liquidity of its banks so they can borrow more easily. That would be less of a humiliation.

It should not be forgotten that when Irish voters were first given a say on what became the Lisbon Treaty they voted "No". Irish independence is both young and keenly felt.

So if the country is forced to accept a full bail-out, questions will be asked about the future. Will Ireland ever regain control over its budget and its economy?
And that is a question being asked not just on the streets of Dublin but in Athens, Lisbon and Madrid.

Ian Martin, writing in the Wall Street Journal observed: "A new model of government without direct accountability to voters is being constructed."
That, of course, is the long-term implication of this crisis. Presuming that the eurozone does not fracture, its flaws are being used to give the European Commission much greater powers of scrutiny and economic management. And this may go further. While everyone focuses on Ireland, Greece and Portugal, the gap between these economies and Germany only widens. The price of saving the euro may be that the stronger countries bail out the weaker - precisely what German voters were told would never happen.

The "ever closer union" that some dream of may be delivered on the back of a battered currency.

Billionaire Donald Trump 'may run for US presidency'

Job Vacancy - In an interview with ABC News, the billionaire Republican said he could "easily" spend more than $200m (£126m) of his own money on his campaign. - Lowongan Kerja

Job Indonesia - "It could be fun because I'd like to see some positive things happen for the country," he said.

He added that he would happily take on former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin, who many believe will join the race.

Mr Trump, who stars in the American version of TV show The Apprentice, said he believed that "everybody's ripping America off".

The 64-year-old real estate mogul singled out China, saying that the country was "getting away with murder" by manipulating its currency.

He said he believed the US was being used as a "whipping post".
"The respect for this country is just not there," he said.

'Led by fools'

"I have many people from China that I do business with, they laugh at us. They feel we're fools. And almost being led by fools. And they can't believe what they're getting away with."

In the interview with ABC's George Stephanopoulos, he added that he would probably make his decision by June.

He was asked about the possibility of challenging Mrs Palin, who ran for vice-president in 2008, for the Republican ticket.

"I would take her on. I like her, but I'd take her on," he said.

Mrs Palin has not formally declared that she will stand, but many commentators have said they believe she will.

Five Job Search Tips to Help You Land Your Next Job

By Scott Gordon

Before the bottom fell out of the global economy it was safe to say that if you had 60 percent to 70 percent of the listed requirements on a job description, you had a decent chance of being hired. Back then, the job market was thin on talent, and some employers found themselves grateful to have found someone who could do the job, albeit someone with partial abilities.

The job market is different now. If you're a job candidate you have to conduct your job search differently.

Job Search Tips
Below are five simple job search tips that will put your job search in the fast lane.

1) Don't apply for jobs that you know you can't do.
If you are a Software Quality Assurance specialist, don't apply for a Senior Director of Regulatory Compliance. Read the job description in full detail and only apply to the positions for which you have the skills. It feels good to send out a bunch of resumes, but going through the motions isn't going to yield faster rewards in your job search.

2) Don't embellish on your resume.
Lying on a resume is more obvious today than it ever was. Don't. Many job seekers think that it's perfectly OK to "fib a little" on a resume. Why do you list it if you know you don't have that job skill? I know why-because if makes your resume look stellar. It adds to the already glowing list of things you've accomplished in your professional career. Psych 101 says that the things you've listed nearest the top of a resume and mentioned multiple times are the things you are most comfortable doing. Many job seekers today are straining to add words and tasks so their resume looks better than their competition. But this is going to come back to haunt you in your job search-so don't do it! Highlight what you are best at, but also come clean when asked about something you have not done. Your candor will get your further.

3) Take a pay cut if you have to. Don't price yourself out of the market just because you think you deserve it more than the next job candidate.
Trying to recover from a previous layoff by overpricing yourself is a bad idea. Assume there are 15 other people applying for the same job. You must, must, must be more aggressive in this market. Pride is the 800 pound gorilla-let go of it and land the job even it means taking a small pay cut. The job candidate who is next in line needs the job more than you. A pay cut will not last forever; and you'll recover from the pay cut and be back to where you were soon enough.

4) Apply once and follow up with an e-mail to confirm receipt.
Sending 28 resumes to the same company won't get you a quicker response than sending one resume. My inbox fills up typically between 2 a.m. and 6 a.m. with multiple submissions of resumes from the same job seeker. The additional submissions are deleted. The contact management tools of today are smarter than you think; and if you submit more than once, your resume is automatically deleted. Some job search Web sites won't allow you to submit your resume more than once anyway, so make your first shot your best one. After submitting your resume, send a simple e-mail to the contact asking to confirm receipt. Most of the time, you'll get a reply. If you don't...send another e-mail. Recruiters today are averaging 150 to 300 resume submissions per day from job seekers. It's a lot to dig through and takes time, so be patient.

5) Use a job recruiter.
When I say use, I mean use. Find a reputable job recruitment firm and partner with them. Part of what I tell job candidates during interviews is that we are all in this together. Use their contacts and search with job recruiters instead of sitting at home waiting on a call. If you come across a job listing that fits your job skills, call your job recruiter and ask what he or she knows about the company. There's a better than average chance the recruiter will know someone on the inside who might be able to get you in the door faster.

Word to the wise on a job search: If you don't trust your job recruiter, find another one. This is your career, this is how you put food on the table, and this is how you pay your mortgage-don't waste your time with a job recruiter who's only in it for personal gain.

Life Style Sehat di Ajang Internasional

- Indonesia Job

Lowongan Kerja - Menurut Christian Widi Nugraha, Brand Manager L-Men, penyelenggaraan Mister International bertujuan mengkampanyekan gaya hidup sehat bernutrisi.

Thomas Sebastian (25), peserta asal Indonesia sangat menikmati keindahan Pulau Dewata.

Pengarah gaya pun tak kenal lelah berteriak-teriak agar Tim melihat kamera.

Nah, siapa pemenangnya, kita tunggu.

Jet Lag Bisa Bikin Bodoh !!!

Mystery Shopper Job Opportunities Are Out There

**Career job information for job seekers and find good   employment job

 by: Gail Sterner
I am a mystery shopper. I did not plan on becoming a mystery shopper, I fell into mystery shopping. It all started when my daughter wrote an eguide: Become a Mystery Shopper. She asked me to help her set up a web site, and I offered to read the eguide. I knew she had been doing mystery shopping but I did not know much about mystery shopper job opportunities. After reading the eguide, I decided I would see if I could find mystery shopper jobs for myself, and I did. Here are some tips if you want to become a mystery shopper.
You will need basic equipment: a computer with access to the Internet, email, and a stop watch or a digital watch that displays seconds.
Many shops require pictures or scanned receipts; you will find more shopper job opportunities if you have a scanner and a digital camera. So, once you start making money, you will want to make the investment in the additional equipment.
There is more to mystery shopping than 'just shopping'! You will be required to observe and remember details from each shop. You must be able to focus, and remember all the requirements of the shop to be sure you ask the right questions, and perform the shop exactly as required. You must be organized and prepared for each shop. After each shop you will be required to complete an online questionnaire with the details of the shop.
Banks, national restaurant chains, movie theaters, grocery stores, discount stores and convenience stores are examples of the businesses that have mystery shopper jobs. They do not hire a mystery shopper directly, but go through a third party mystery shopper agency. The agency will manage the mystery shopper program for them. The agency will post the mystery shopper job opportunities, track the results, and pay the mystery shopper.
Some mystery shopper jobs are questionnaires and are multiple choice forms and may require a short paragraph. Other mystery shopper job opportunities require a very detailed written description of the mystery shopper experience. Be sure you understand the reporting requirement and that you are comfortable with completing the mystery shop.
A mystery shopper must be very organized. You have to keep track of the job opportunities assigned to you: the date to shop, the date the report is due, and of course whether you have been paid. Typically, you will be paid once a month for the completed mystery shopper jobs. So be sure you know the payment schedule of the mystery shopper agency, so you know when to expect payment.
In order to pay you, the legitimate companies will require your social security number or tax id. Be sure you are registering with a legitimate company on a secure web page. (A secure web page will have a lock in the right corner of your browser and the URL at the top of the page begins with https not http.) Some companies pay only PayPal accounts, and your registered email with that company and the email associated with the PayPal account must match.
And remember a legitimate web site with mystery shopper job opportunities will NOT charge a fee to view the mystery shopper jobs.

Public Relations Job Description

**Career job information for job seekers and find good   employment job

In PR careers especially in small organizations, the PR personnel directing public relations or handling an individual's publicity or public image, often has to deal with the job's every single aspect which can be quite stressful and involves huge responsibility. These kinds of PR personnel have to conduct research, make planning, contact people and also prepare or supervise the preparation of materials that have to be distributed.
A public accountant job description can be summed up in what most people envision as "typical" accountant's work. It involves performing a broad range of accounting, auditing, tax, and consulting activities for their clients, which may be corporations, governments, nonprofit organizations, and individuals. Specialties in public accounting are often chosen. For example, a public accountant may choose to concentrate on tax matters, such as advising companies about the tax advantages and disadvantages of certain business decisions and preparing individual income tax returns.
Much of the work today is done on computers as many new software have been developed that are used for drafting and doing other architecture job designs. So sound knowledge of all these is must to complete the work on time. The job of an architect is not done in isolation but it needs close liaison with other professionals like surveyors, engineers, construction workers and suppliers. So an architect must be familiar with all these, how they work, what products they use and what quantity is required.
Specialists have the ability to arrange and manage engagements in speaking, press meetings, conferences, and conventions. They also engage in films or videos, and fund raising promotions. They are more often than not prepare many resources for the said events; for example, they have to prepare speeches and press releases, scripts, magazine articles, pamphlets, fact sheets, and newsletters. Sometimes, they should conduct interviews and telephone speaking on a regular basis.
The piece of the equation that is advertising has the sole responsibility of putting your product or service where the public can see it. Advertising lets the consumer know what it is that you have to offer, then lets them know why exactly they need it. A company could pay a pretty penny for advertising; in fact the advertising budget is often the largest part of the marketing plan's expenditure. As the saying goes, "you have to spend money to make money."
Some of the more popular musicians and bands often get them selves caught in political and media firestorms over their perceptions and comments about events, people and concepts in our society and that is when a good public relations specialist can separate their brilliance from the baggage of their often high-strung words and fierce perspective based comments.

Job Search: Holiday Dead Zones for Job Seekers

**Career job information for job seekers and find good   employment job

With November and the upcoming holidays in the air, the turf changes for hiring that can be either problematic for job seekers, or an opportunity. As a job seeker you will do much better during this season if you are prepared ahead of time for how the business environment is likely to change.

The Dead Zone is basically an acknowledgement of the behavior that the majority of businesses take during the holidays. Starting with Thanksgiving, in most businesses other than retail, there begins a massive evacuation of employees taking advantage of holiday closures to spend time with family. The week of Thanksgiving kicks off about 6 weeks of a dead zone for hiring. While many of the businesses are open, you are typically faced with a skeletal staff and missing decision makers. The people who remain behind are there primarily to keep the gears moving, even if it is slow. The only work that tends to get done during this period is what is minimally required to ensure that the primary function of the business continues. The work that almost comes to a stop is usually strategic planning, decision making and those things not directly supporting the primary function. An example is in manufacturing companies where you will see shipping and order-taking continue, but many functions like marketing, sales and support functions are all on hold. What this means for you is that hiring is one of those activities that will come to such a crawl it looks like there is no hiring at all. For some companies, they will only pursue hiring where there is a critical need AND the hiring manager is available enough in that 6-week period to actually make some progress.

During this dead zone you are facing 3 weeks with fewer work days, which makes those weeks primary targets for vacations, plus a week or two on both sides of it, if they are banking their hours. For the remaining days, those are usually spent “playing catch up”. Does any of this sound familiar? The meaning for you, if you’re a job seeker, is that for the vast majority of businesses, you can’t expect too much activity around hiring. If you have an interview the week before Thanksgiving, you’ll be lucky for a decision to get made for 2-3 weeks, at best. If you’re fortunate enough to get an interview in early December, a decision probably won’t get made until the second week of January, if all goes well. Most likely, it would be the third week in January.
Does that mean you should absolutely back off during the dead zone? Not necessarily. If you are working your network, you might find that they have idle time on their hands, making it worth your effort to take advantage of the slow time in the office. The warning is mostly around your expectations of the process. You can’t expect many hiring decisions to be taking place. Resume processing will be sluggish and then there will be a glut of paper to be processed on the other side of the holidays. The opportunity is that if someone is around, you will do well to make contact, which is super because you might be the thing that will break up a boring day. Mostly, you need to set your expectations that people won’t be around, won’t be available, and won’t be checking voicemail or email and what little processing is going on, will be painfully slow.
There is a bright light in the holiday seasons and that is retail. If you are up for temporary holiday work, now is the time to start filling out company applications. Many times those jobs turn into permanent positions making it well worth your time to get on board. Even if it doesn’t turn into a job after the holidays, it will bring in income and fill the time productively while the rest of the companies are going into a holiday sugar coma. Keep in mind that there is more to retail than the store fronts. The bigger retailers have warehouse, stocking and other support functions that are also needed. Extending from the retailers are the logistics and shipping companies that also have to add additional staff to support all of the shipping and order taking. The holiday season can create opportunities for getting a job, as long as you are willing to look. With a bit of creativity and investigation, you will discover a number of businesses that increase their staff in order to accommodate the various demands of the season.
If you are unemployed, this can also be a prime time to seek out a volunteer opportunity that will capitalize on your skills. Just like the businesses that increase their activities this time of year, the same type of cycle of decrease and increase happens in the nonprofit universe. Volunteering will help you fill gaps in your resume, increase your network and make you feel great.

The holidays do present a challenge for job seekers, especially if the industry you are focusing on is one with a clear dead zone. That doesn’t mean you stop everything, but it does mean you should think through what is apt to happen until after the first of the year and modify your plan accordingly.

Are You Making the Most of Your LinkedIn Profile In Your Job Search?

**Career job information for job seekers and find good   employment job

Although hiring appears to have picked up a little over the last month or so, some sectors are still cutting back. We still talk to job seekers who are finding themselves out in the job market for the first time in a long time. These candidates often feel overwhelmed and don’t really know where to start with their job searches. Obviously, getting a polished, keyword-rich resume together is one of the most important steps. For many, a step that is equally important is creating or updating their LinkedIn profiles.

Studies show that the majority of recruiters and hiring managers now use LinkedIn at some point during the hiring process. So it’s not just important to have a LinkedIn profile but to have a complete profile that focuses on your brand and what you can offer the employer. You want your profile to show up in the top of search results and then convince the hiring manager to make contact.

LinkedIn also offers somewhat of a one-stop shop for a hiring manager trying to learn more about the candidate behind that fabulous resume on his desk (that would be you!) If you have recommendations on your profile, your candidacy receives instant credibility. If the companies you’ve worked for have created company pages on LinkedIn, the hiring manager can instantly learn things like how big the organization is and its Web site address without having to search around. Your LinkedIn profile also offers you the opportunity to create a more personal connection and communicate additional information not included in your resume.

So what’s in it for you? Besides allowing hiring managers to actively search for you or learn more about you once you’ve applied, LinkedIn also offers you a fabulous opportunity to research companies in which you’re interested. There’s probably no other place on the Web where you can find information like what percentage of the employees at a particular company have a master’s degree or attended particular schools. Wouldn’t you feel more confident walking into an interview knowing that 20% of an organization graduated from your alma mater?

If the idea of creating an attention-grabbing LinkedIn profile feels overwhelming, our professional branding experts can do it for you!

3 Strategies for Making it Past the Initial 5-Second Resume Scan

**Career job information for job seekers and find good   employment job

I’ve heard it said various ways that you get a 5-, 7-, or 30-second initial scan from the hiring manager. I can tell you personally that when I was an HR manager and had 100 resumes to go through, my initial scan was about 5 seconds long, and I was looking for something to catch my eye. Here are the three areas I looked at when considering whether to invest more time:

PROFESSIONAL FORMATTING
When you’re reviewing 100 resumes a day, the ones that really stick out are the ones in which you can tell the person invested time into creating. The professional and executive resume formats that were well-organized, easy to read, and perfectly laid out really made reviewing the resume easier—and definitely caught my attention. When you’re comparing a professionally organized and strategically laid out resume to a messy, unprofessional, and disorganized one, the choice of which one to invest time into reading becomes a no-brainer. After all, why waste time searching through a document trying to find the info you need when someone else has clearly laid it out for you?

EASY-TO-FIND REQUIREMENTS
When I posted a job ad online and was deluged with responses, I was appalled at how many people just shot me a resume that said absolutely nothing about the requirements that I had spent so much time writing to include in the ad. Normally, when I posted a job ad I would include: REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS and PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS. At the very least, to even be considered, the person had to possess the required qualifications; and the resumes that caught my attention were the ones that made it easy for me to see that they did indeed meet the requirements—either by listing them in the top or calling attention to them in a bold, underlined, or italicized font and placed throughout their resume. Want to put the nail in the coffin? (I know, Halloween humor ... groan ...) Call attention to the fact that you also meet their preferred qualifications. Meeting the required and preferred qualifications—and calling attention to this fact in your resume—makes you a perfect candidate for the job.

COMPELLING, EASY-TO-READ CONTENT
Long paragraphs on resumes serve one purpose ... and that’s to lose the hiring manager’s attention. If you’re using paragraphs with 5+ sentences then you not only lost my attention, but now the info I need isn’t readily accessible; it’s buried beneath an enormous amount of text density that I don’t have the time to wade through. Keep it concise, cut out the mundane, and highlight your accomplishments. Don’t go super crazy with the bold, underline, or italics, but use them when it fits, and use them to call attention to the most important information.

Just to review—here’s how to make it past the initial 5-second scan:
1) Professional, polished, and well-organized format (colors and white space, good—messy and distracting, bad.)
2) Make it easy for the hiring manager to find exactly what he or she needs—and to find it quickly.
3) Keep the content concise, and highlight the critical information the hiring manager needs in order to make the decision to call for the interview.

Other strategies come into play when creating a compelling resume that will secure interviews, so if you’re not sure your resume has the right stuff—and if you haven’t heard of personal branding or incorporated it into your resume—it may be time to call a certified resume writer and get a resume checkup. If it means the difference between 3 interviews next week or 3 more months of job searching, you may want to consider speaking with a professional.  http://www.sooperarticles.com

Employment -- The ‘Other’ Marriage

**Career job information for job seekers and find good   employment job

Recruiting, and ultimately hiring, an employee for a small company is like getting married all over again! You’re practically living with this person for more hours each day than you probably spend with your spouse. Do you spend the time and energy developing the relationship necessary to determine if this is a good “fit”? Or, do you think you can just “divorce” the candidate if it doesn’t work out? Beware, getting out of an employment relationship can be costly!

“Like all successful ventures, the employment relationship begins with planning,” states Deanne Ferguson, president of F.O.C.U.S. Management Group, and outsourced human resource department located in Eagan, Minnesota “If you can’t define the goal before you begin, how will you know when you’ve achieved it? Without a plan, the probability is greater that the wrong person will be hired; a poor selection decision may lead to a firing decision later. Many months are wasted, many dollars are spent, and the frustration makes it even more difficult for management to continue the search.”

According to Ferguson, there are three basic rules of employment planning:

1. Define the expected job performance as specifically and completely as possible before you start looking for candidates. Would you start a trip without first mapping your course?

2. Look for the key factors that lead to successful job performance in all job candidates, i.e. years of experience, level of education, motivation and technical skills.

3. Devote sufficient time to the process. If you don’t plan and you hurry towards an artificial deadline, you can find yourself in the firing process very quickly. “Warm bodies” hiring can buy you some major problems in the future.

Given these three basic rules, Ferguson further defines the employee selection decision as an eight-step process:

1. Define expected performance. Do you have an accurate job description?

2. Identify key factors. Do you know what the qualified person’s background will include?

3. Generate candidates for the position. Do you know where to recruit?

4. Collect key factor information about each candidate. Are you a skilled interviewer?

5. Evaluate candidates in terms of key factors. Can you separate personality from the skills?

6. Select the most qualified candidate. Are you able to make an objective selection?

7. Check references thoroughly before extending an offer. Do you check all references?

8. Extend an offer of employment in writing. Do you have a formal offer letter?

Although there is not a “normal” turnover rate for all companies, Business & Legal Reports, Inc. published a report in June of 1995 which estimated turnover at 2.6 percent in small employers.

Turnover is not cheap! It’s not unusual to spend several thousand dollars in ads, management time and lost productivity while training. When you consider the disruption to your customer base and the image presented when turnover continues, it is definitely an important topic for discussion at your management meetings.

“The employment relationship, like a marriage, needs to be nurtured and cared for,” concludes Ferguson. “What do you think would happen if the day after your wedding you proceeded to do what you’d always done before your marriage? If you didn’t include your new spouse in your daily routine, how long do you think the marriage would last?

“It’s the same with a new employee. Do you have the person’s first week on the job arranged? Who will be there to walk him or her around and make introductions? Is a desk and phone ready? Who will review the new hire paperwork and make sure the necessary forms, such as a W-4 and I-9, are completed? This part of the hiring process is just as critical as the activity that has gone on before. You want the new person to feel part of the team, and that you are glad he or she is here. Be prepared!”

As an outsourced human resources department, F.O.C.U.S. Management Group has helped numerous small businesses with critical hiring decisions in a non-traditional manner. Companies pay for F.O.C.U.S. Management’s service only when they use it, Ferguson explains, which frees them from paying year-round overhead or the standard 25 to 35 percent placement fees. (ARA)

Job Status and Credit Status, a CloseRelationship

Really? The answer unfortunately is yes, your credit status can have an impact on your ability to get a job in the current economy. How do I know this? Real world examples.
I have a part time accountant and she is a good employee. If I had the need for a full time resource, then she would not have to be out looking for other part time work. My employee, we'll call her Sally, has over 30 years of experience as an accountant, backed by a 4 year degree from an accredited state university. Sally can crunch numbers, manage her own time, provide three decades worth of valuable advice, and she could probably balance the Federal budget if given the chance. Unfortunately Sally has had a couple of bad years. She lost her spouse, paid all of his medical bills in full, and then started moving around the country to try and support herself. A couple of bad moving decisions coupled with the housing crash and Sally's credit looks like a score at the FIFA tournament in South Africa. Not real high.
Job Search
So, Sally has been looking for work since I have known her over the last seven months. Here is the reality out there on the streets. Sally can't sell shoes at an outlet mall. Sally can not be an accountant anywhere that runs credit checks because she doesn't have any credit. Sally cannot re-establish her credit without full time work. This is a case of where the metrics are wrong. If any employer would meet Sally face to face, hear her story, and see her real worth as a person, then they would see what I see. While Sally is not the best employee I have ever had, she is worth more than an instant "NO" because of her credit score.
Employment
If you are having trouble finding employment, and it doesn't matter if you are a seasoned professional or a green sales associate, check your credit score now. Get an Equifax 3-in-1 Credit Report Now! Even if you can't fix your credit before you get that new job, talk openly about your credit with any potential employers. People making hiring decisions like honesty. I swear. Bring your credit score up in the interview and explain your situation. If you don't, it might look like you are trying to slide by the interview processing with something to hide.
That is my perspective, I would love to hear yours.
