8 Great Jobs for Introverts

by Kip Parent, Keirsey.com

A common misconception holds that outgoing, extroverted people have the inside track at landing high-paying, prestigious jobs. A closer look at successful people such as Warren Buffet, Condoleezza Rice, Alan Greenspan, and Ashley Judd suggests otherwise. These highly accomplished people, as well as many other successful (and well-known) professionals, are actually reserved -- or even shy -- introverts.

Alice Fairhurst, a career coach and expert on personality types, says many facets in an individual's personality lead to success in high-satisfaction jobs. Says Fairhurst, "Introversion can be a hurdle to making the initial move in finding a new job, but other parts of one's temperament are great assets in both initial and continued success."

She lists eight great jobs for introverts, based on research of people's overall temperament and career success.

Armed with this personal knowledge (and confidence), you can identify a career in which you'll find both enjoyment and success.
